In partnership with Arts Council Wales, this exciting initiative brings creativity to the heart of learning, empowering our pupils to think critically, solve problems, and express themselves in innovative ways.
The Creative Schools Project integrates the arts across the curriculum, offering unique opportunities for our learners to engage with professional artists and creative practitioners.
Through this collaboration, we aim to nurture imagination, build confidence, and develop essential skills that prepare our children for a dynamic and ever-changing world.
Mrs. Holmes and Year 3 have thoroughly enjoyed an inspiring journey working with creative agents to develop their digital skills and create engaging podcasts. This innovative project has allowed pupils to dive into various aspects of podcasting, including scriptwriting, storytelling, interviewing, and sound editing. Through hands-on sessions, the children have learnt to use digital tools and technology to bring their ideas to life, fostering creativity, confidence, and critical thinking.
To expand the impact of this exciting initiative, Mrs. Holmes has also launched a dedicated podcast club. Open to children from across the school, the club provides a platform for pupils to explore podcasting in greater depth, experimenting with recording equipment, editing software, and content creation. The children have tackled diverse topics, ranging from school events to their favourite hobbies, allowing them to express their interests and develop communication skills.
This project not only enhances digital literacy but also promotes teamwork, problem-solving, and self-expression in a fun and engaging way. By equipping pupils with these valuable skills, St. David’s continues to prepare its learners for the challenges and opportunities of the modern world.
