As part of our topic, we have had lots of opportunities to engage in hands-on experiences! We have explored and investigated the properties of a range of materials both natural and man-made through a variety of creative activities.
We have made mixtures with mud, herbs, and leaves which has encouraged sensory exploration and imaginative play. We concocted delightful perfumes using lavender, petals and spices exploring and learning about scents and botanical properties.
We have explored line and colour in art and experimented with these in our work and play. We looked at the work of the Welsh artist Rosie Scribblah and created our own line drawings in in ink, using her style.
Spending Friday’s in our conservation area has been a fantastic way to appreciate the outdoors. Painting mud pictures and creating pictures using natural resources has helped us explore artistic expression in a natural environment.
What an imaginative and inventive time we have had!
